Farington Park - Leyland

The massive building at Farington Park in Leyland could be open for business as early as the fourth quarter of 2022 if approved.

This will be the first phase of the 40-acre Farington Park, which garnered outline permission from South Ribble Council in January. The Caddick Developments scheme offers direct links to the M61, M65 and M6. When it is completely finished, Farington Park will have 612,500 sq ft of warehouses and industrial space, a cycleway to connect it to the Leyland Loop, and an eight-acre recreational area.

“We’re pleased to be taking on one of the largest ever projects of this nature in the North West,” said Caddick Developments director Steve Widdowson. “There’s a huge demand for large units in the area, and the Farington Park development should provide an ideally-located solution for a lot of industrial occupiers.”

Caddick said that enabling works for the more than 500,000 sq ft unit would begin in October if planning permission were granted. Caddick estimates that construction it will create 228 jobs during the build itself and 800 jobs upon completion.

KPP Architects designed the scheme, with NJL Consulting acting as planner. Other development team members include engineer JPG Group, environmental consultant Urban Green, MEP consultant Crookes Walker Consulting, cost consultant Henry Riley and project manager Box Clever.

Rob Taylor at Cushman & Wakefield and Sam Royle at Knight Frank are the agents for the project.
